About

Egill Harðar is a veteran web designer who’s knowledge in all things related to UI and UX is way greater then his weight (which means he’s a nerd). He’s a fanatic blogger and is somewhat of an enthusiast for social media, personal branding and online marketing (although he dislikes intensely selling people stuff they really don’t need or can afford).

Egill, who finds it fun writing about himself in the third person, now works as lead GUI and systems designer for exciting startup Gagnavarslan. Before that he headed a one man social media marketing team at social music marketplaca Gogoyoko.

Egill is the editor of www.rjominn.is which is Iceland’s longest running and most read online music magazine. In fact it is currently the only magazine of any kind in Iceland that solely focuses on music and related topics.

Together with his friend and former gogoyoko team mate Stjáni Gunnars, he also runs a little side project at www.socialmedia.is which was supposed to open in the first months of 2010 but, due to Egill’s dramatic loss of faith in peoples interest in using social media for good, is now in permanent hiatus.

Egill lives in a cozy little apartment with his girlfriend, two baby boys and Border Terrier named Sproti. He enjoys football (soccer), Internet meme, music, movies, books, blogging, design, WordPress tweaking, hanging out on Twitter, procrastinating, promoting atheism and enlightenment and playing pool.

If you are not a spam bot, a Viagra salesman or want him to play Farmville you may connect with Egill searching for the username egillhardar on every respectable social network. You might try sending smoke signals but he might confuse them with a volcano.
